What is Little Gem Saloon?

We are a two-story restaurant, bar and historic music venue first opened in 1903. Here you can enjoy New Southern Soul Food, outstanding classic cocktails and watch live music from some of the best our great city has to offer.  Our main dining room is our first floor Saloon, and we offer food and drink daily in this space. The vast majority of our shows take place with food service on the Saloon stage. Our private events space, the Ramp Room, is on the second floor, and we occasionally open this space for Standing Room Only shows.  Most of our shows are ticketed.

How do I book music tickets?

You can get tickets to all of our shows on our MUSIC calendar found here link above at our home page. Click on the show on the date that you’d like to see, and you’ll see a button for TICKETS. Follow that to Ticketfly.com and complete your purchase!

You can also purchase tickets at our hostess stand on the evening of your visit (provided the event isn’t sold out) but be aware that there is often an Advance price and a Day of Show price.

Not all shows have entry fees.  The Little Gem Saloon offers free music during some Happy Hours from 5pm to 7pm. Additionally, the monthly NOLA Dukes showcase is a free event.

Do I need to print my TicketFly tickets?

You do not! We’ll have you on the Pre-Sold List at the hostess stand, so come on in and tell us your name (or the name used to purchase those tickets if it’s not yours.)

What times do bands start and finish?

Show times vary. Please check the calendar for show times.

Can I use my Restaurant.com gift card for the music charge?

You cannot. We are happy to apply your Restaurant.com balance to both food and drink, but it cannot put it towards your music charge.

How do I book a table for a show?

If you’re dining, we’ll be happy to reserve a table for you. You can call us at 504-267-4863 or use the Open Table widget to the right.

Do I need to book a table in advance?

We strongly encourage reservations and advance purchases of tickets as many of our shows sell out.

If I want to come to the music and not eat, where do I sit?

Purchasing a ticket online doesn’t guarantee seating.  We offer first-come-first-served Bar Seating and the occasional Row Seating to our guests who do not have a dining reservation on nights when we are fully booked. After all seats are filled, we become Standing Room Only.

Are there options for my special dietary needs?

Take a look at our menus here and see and feel free to reach out to us with your specific requirements. Any special menu requests should be made well in advance and in combination with a table reservation.

Is dining available in the Ramp Room?

We will occasionally offer table service at Ramp Room shows. Open Table will show reservation options for the Saloon and Ramp Room when dining is available upstairs, but you’re always welcome to call at 504-267-4863 or send us an email to find out as well. Otherwise, all Ramp Room shows are Standing Room Only.

Can you split the check for my table?

We can split a check four ways for our smaller tables. We are unable to split checks for tables of 10 or more.

How large of a group can you accommodate for dining in the Saloon?

We can accommodate large groups in the Saloon, however, there are special parameters for large group dining. Please see the Tasting Menu on the RESTAURANT & BAR tab then email or call us for further information and to book your group.

Can I rent out part or all of this beautiful venue for a Private Event/Corporate Party/Wedding/Shindig?

OF COURSE YOU CAN! Visit our PRIVATE EVENTS page for ideas and rough details, then email Cheryl with the date of your party, number of guests, menu ideas, hopes, dreams and budget and she’ll get right to you!

Is there a dress code?

While we operate a relaxed dress code, most people choose to dress smart casual.

What happens at lunch?

We offer a lunch buffet Monday through Friday from 11am until 2pm. Guests may order from the menu at lunch, but with the full understanding that we are staffed for a buffet and it may take the kitchen some time to prepare those meals.

There is not usually live music during lunch, but we have been known to surprise our guests!

Is the club non-smoking?

Yes.  Little Gem Saloon is a fully non-smoking venue.  We offer a wraparound balcony and a courtyard for smokers.

Are photography and filming allowed inside Little Gem Saloon?

As the venue, we are thrilled to see our space, stages & dishes on social media. Any musician may ask that you not photograph or film their show, and we will stand behind that artist when those requests are made.

For press inquiries or photo request, email Jessie.

Are children allowed at the shows?

Since we are a full-service restaurant, we are also an all-ages music venue. We have a menu specially made for the wee ones and crayons at the hostess stand. We even have highchairs! Children aged 8 and under are welcomed without a ticket purchase and children 9 are subject to the listed ticket price.

We occasionally will have 21+ shows, and those will be clearly marked as such. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with the artist who you are coming to see, as some of our performers may have mature themes in their shows and in their banter.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We like cash, but also take the standard cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). We can swipe a card for you at the door for your day of ticket purchase as well.

What if I wish to cancel my ticket and/or table?

All pre-sold tickets are non-refundable unless the show is cancelled.

Table reservations can be canceled at anytime, though on certain holidays you may incur a late cancellation penalty if your table is cancelled less than 72 hours before the event.

I’m outside of the US and TicketFly isn’t letting me buy tickets. What can I do??

Since different banks have different address verifications and, as a measure against fraudulent purchases, some really crack down on purchases being made for an event in one country while your postal code is in another. A few pieces of advice from TicketFly:

  • Try a different card from a different bank. The requirements may be different.
  • Try entering your postal code as all 0s.
  • Call TicketFly’s customer service. Have the name, date and time of the show you want to see and they can help to work you through it. They can be reached at 1-877-435-9849

Where can I park?

There are multiple parking lots surrounding the Little Gem Saloon. These lots are not affiliated with us, so please be sure sure you pay to park. They will boot you. There are also free spots on Loyola and meters on S. Rampart.

How do I get to you on public transportation?

We are located on the Rampart-St. Claude streetcar line and the RTA numbers 16 and 28 stop right outside of our doors.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes, we offer full wheelchair accessibility on both floors.

Do you donate food/certificates/tickets to non-profits?

We have the ability to offer donations to two groups per month. Please submit your request via email no later than one month in advance of when you need the donation picked up.
